Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and the People Power Party, collaborators in treason, are back at it again with their tedious stall-ball tactics, and frankly, the people are utterly fed up

Yesterday, Prime Minister Han essentially refused to appoint constitutional court judges. And why? Because former Minister of Defense Kim Yong-hyun admitted that he briefed you, Prime Minister, before the December 3 martial law declaration. That revelation must have rattled you, didn't it? Perhaps even terrified you.

Tell me, Prime Minister. After playing Acting President for a few days, did you start to feel like you were actually elected to the role? Watching you cling to your position, twisting yourself in knots to dodge responsibility, almost inspires pity. Almost. But let’s face it. You are not qualified to act as Acting President. You have done very little to justify your role as Prime Minister, and as for earning respect as a senior statesman? That ship has long since sailed.

And the People Power Party? You are no better. Instead of doing the right thing, you have eagerly latched onto Han's absurd calls for “negotiation and compromise", turning it into yet another excuse to stall, to delay, to run out the clock. Do you honestly believe that dragging your feet will somehow erase the treason charges against Yoon Suk-yeol? Stop scheming. Start reflecting. On the law, on basic decency, and, if it still exists, your conscience.

The truth is simple, and everyone knows it. The Constitutional Court, legal experts, and all three judicial nominees have made it clear that there is no obstacle to these appointments. So why not just admit it? Say it outright. “We don’t want to take responsibility. We feel wronged. We refuse to be judged.” Or, better yet, shout it from the rooftops. “Prolonging our hold on power is more important than stabilizing the country. Our political survival matters more than the will and future of the people.”

Let me be perfectly clear. The December 3 unconstitutional and illegal martial law incident is not a matter for negotiation. It is a crime that demands investigation and accountability. The unconstitutional use of martial law and the impeachment of the President it triggered are no different.

History is always moving forward. You cannot stop it. The only question is whether you will be crushed beneath its weight or rise to meet it alongside the people. Stop hiding. Make a choice. Take responsibility. Because that is what public service demands.

Every hesitant step you have taken, every moment you have wasted, will be met with the people's unwavering and unrelenting judgment. Today, the motion to impeach Prime Minister is up for a vote. It is unnecessary to dispute the quorum for the vote. Han Duck-soo is merely an appointed Prime Minister who has taken on the role of ‘Acting President', not a president elected by the entire nation.

‘Acting President' is not a constitutional ‘status’ that was newly given to him. Han Duck-soo is still a Prime Minister. This is evident from the fact that the privilege such as criminal immunity that comes with the presidential status does not apply to the ‘Acting President’ Han Duck-soo. Therefore, the quorum required for the vote on the ‘Prime Minister(Han Duck-soo) impeachment motion' is clearly just a majority(151).

To the citizens of the world, trust in the strength and resilience of South Korean democracy. At every critical juncture in our tumultuous history, our citizens have triumphed and achieved democracy.‘The Bloody Democratization Revolution', where lives were sacrificed in the face of military dictatorship's guns and knives, has evolved into ‘The Candlelight Revolution', and is now evolving and continuing as ‘The Revolution of Light'.

With our great citizens, we, the Democratic Party, will address this crisis within the framework of our Constitution and laws. We will work tirelessly to restore Korea's international credibility and reclaim the dignity of our nation. Trust in the people of Korea. Trust in Korea itself. "We will end the night of insurrection and start a whole new morning of hope.”

Thank you.
