Is the People Power Party’s Fake News Fabrication Unit still hard at work in the new year, just as they were during Christmas?

1. People Power Party Fake News Fabrication Team's Press Release

“A police officer fell into a coma after being struck on the head at a rally calling for President Yoon Suk-yeol’s arrest and impeachment.”

→ Incorrect. That never happened.

2. Photo posted by Lee Sang-hui, Chairman of the People Power Party's Media Special Committee, on his SNS account

“Supporters opposing Yoon Suk-yeol’s arrest.”

→ Also incorrect. The photo actually shows citizens staging an overnight sit-in demanding Yoon Suk-yeol’s arrest.

It seems the People Power Party’s so-called Fake News Discovery Team has evolved, or perhaps devolved, into a full-fledged Fake News Fabrication Unit.

Having obsessively weaponized dubious foreign articles to attack Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, they have now moved on to inventing events that never happened and passing off lies as facts. At this rate, one can’t help but question whether their grip on reality, or even basic integrity, is intact.

How long has it been since the so-called "Real News Discovery Team" hit rock bottom and rebranded itself as the "Fake News Fabrication Team"? Wasn’t it just this past Christmas when they got caught fabricating foreign media reports about Lee Jae-myung, complete with unverifiable sources, prompting calls for them to rename themselves the "Fabrication Unit"?

And yet, here they are again, floundering like someone trying to argue with a shadow, offering the feeble excuse of a "young staffer" in place of a proper response to pointed criticisms.

If they’re this committed to conjuring news out of thin air, perhaps they should disband and take up writing fiction instead... though whether they’d ever get published is a separate question entirely.

Let me assure you: the public has neither the time nor the patience to entertain the People Power Party Fabrication Unit’s elaborate flights of fancy masquerading as facts.

As the People Power Party’s own Media Special Committee has repeatedly stressed, distorted reporting, unverified citations, and outright fabrications come with legal consequences.

So, in the spirit of their own warnings about 'fake news' and 'defamation,' we’d simply return the favor: add another star. At this pace, their Fake News Fabrication Unit might soon light up Yeouido with a galaxy of its own making.
